Client Success Stories
Client of the Month - Jim Kane
Jim Kane moved to San Diego 4 years ago and decided, along with a fresh start, that he wanted to incorporate a fitness and nutrition routine into his daily life. Recovering from a severe knee injury, Jim had to quit his passion for marathon running and competing. Although it was a choice out of his control, Jim didn’t want to stop working out entirely.
At 63 years young, Jim was referred to Adam and The Gym In Mission Hills by his colleague. His colleague explained that he knew of a facility that focused on Training, Nutrition, and Massage Therapy. Without hesitation, Jim stopped by for a consultation. After consulting with the team, both sides realized it was a great fit.
Jim signed up for our “Transform” Training Program Membership. He comes in and trains on-on-one 8 times per month under the guidance and care of our trainers.
Although Jim has always been a cyclist, he found himself becoming more involved with his biking community. After careful consideration and approval from his trainers and health care professionals, Jim signed up for the 2018 Aids Life Cycle San Francisco to Los Angeles Charity Bike Ride. Jim trained with Adam at The Gym in Mission Hills for a total of 8 months to prepare. Through Jim’s dedication, struggle, consistency, motivation and a hunger to compete, he completed the 545 mile, 7 day bike ride! An incredible achievement that Jim checked off his bucket list!
He did it and more:
He raised $15,500 for the charities that help stop new infections and take care of those living with HIV in need of urgent services.
Where is Jim now?
Jim is currently thriving and continuing to workout and train at The Gym In Mission Hills. Through his routine and the proactive mindset, both mentally and physically, Jim has met many friends along the way who support him to work hard and stay on his fitness path.
What’s next for Jim?
Jim is planning his next goal….. biking in Columbia’s mountains in South America. Nothing is stopping Jim from checking this next amazing thing off his bucket list and he has the support of The Gym in Mission Hills to accomplish it.
